We will schedule a time for us to come to your home, meet with you and any other decision makers who should be present, evaluate your home and abilities, and come up with an individualized plan to help you safely age in place.
A Certified Aging in Place Specialist, or CAPS for short, is an individual who is educated and credentialed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in partnership with AARP. A CAPS professional has the training and knowledge to help you modify and set up your home to keep you and your family as safe and independent as possible for years to come.
Occupational therapists look at your balance, mobility level, home environment, thinking skills, vision, hearing, strength, abilities, what you find meaningful in life, your desired activities, and more. We incorporate all of this information into an individualized plan to keep you as safe and independent as possible and continue to participate in your daily activities of living.

A home remodeler, contractor, or home builder may be educated in the general principles of universal design, visitable design, aging in place, ADA modifications, etc. However we at Aging in Place Consulting, LLC, being occupational therapists AND certified aging in place specialists, are uniquely positioned to create an individualized plan specifically for you, to keep you and your family as safe and independent as possible and help you continue to participate in what you find meaningful in life for years to come.

Not at all. We will make suggestions according to your individual needs. We can suggest changes you can utilize for years to come, or can provide suggestions on temporary changes you may need for a surgery, temporary injury, temporary guest, etc.
We do not currently accept insurance however hope to do so in the future.
